While the Seward Highways is known as one of the more dangerous highways to drive, it is reasonable to drive as long as you are aware of other drivers and don’t take risks while driving or park on the side of the highway to look at whales or Dall sheep. Most trips are 7 day cruise and 4-7 land tour. If you’re arriving for your 10 days in Alaska via cruise ship, it will take most of the day to disembark and travel from the ship to Anchorage. The Alcan Highway runs from Dawson Creek, British Columbia (Canada) and ends in Delta Junction, Alaska. If you want to visit inside the park, you need to take the bus like everyone else. You can go rafting in Denali. Likewise, a trip to Kennecott, in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, takes you way off the grid, letting you see an amazing historical ghost town … I’m not a cyclist and I’ve never heard of tours like this.
